I just called and found out that System at Texas Center has some problem. I confirmed my petition. I was told by immigration officer that they are processing for I-140, January 2006 right now.

I am taking all documents, but what specifially they look for? I am confused by what they mean "Originals and copies of all supporting documents submitted with the application"? Does this mean documents submitted with I-485 or labor certificate?

They usually issue the I-94 till the validity of the Petition or expiry of the Passport in some cases. In my case i had a valid stamp from May 2004 till Jan 2006, but I had a new H1 from a new employer in Oct 2004 which was approved till Jan 2007 and when I entered US in may 2005 I was issed a new I-94 till Jan 2007 even though the stamp will expire in Jan 2006.

Even if anyone has 10 year visa stamp, they can admit only for 10 days if they want; no one can argue/challange it at POE. Further truth is; even they can deny admission to GC holder if they want or if they found something fishy. Nothing is guarentee at POE as well as in consulate for getting non-immigrant visa. So, the departure date in latest I-94 is the important date to comply with (to leave US or extend on time).

In fact your latest I94 number is needed on ALL your forms. So you will not be able to even complete the forms till you get back. So either
1) Cut your trip short and return
OR
2) Continue your vacation and fill up all the forms electronically and get it verified by your lawyers if they agree to do so and then update it with the latest I94 after getting back

I've been a legal US resident for years on an H1-B, and have been fortunate to have never had out-of-status issues or anything like that. BUT, as it happens, I'm up in Canada on vacation at the moment, planning to return next week. I've never had to get a visa stamp or surrender I-94 or any of that stuf.

This is another fake story and push to try to get Congress to do something about easing immigration. 150K entrepreneurs have returned home. Really? I have not seen more than 100 Indian+Chinese NEW companies - worth their name - come up in the last at least 10 years. And about 5000 US firms that are making waves have come up in the US, 90% of which are started by born-Americans.
Moral: those that returned home were not entrepreneurs!

People voted Obama just for economy and jobs. I remember when Paulin was announced GOP was leading for 2 weeks. When Stock market started tanking with demise of Lehmen GOP started losing. Imstead of not concentrating on economy he started working on healthcare. So democrats lost. In this situation he will realise now and he will take economy as first priority and immigration will be last 10th priority. Immigration group may have defend many anti immigrant bills and memos in this year. But nothing will be passed either for or against immigrants. Status quo will continue for 2010. The good old time, bills are passed that are important and good for the general people and this some times was not popular, but now only the issues popular are are being taken and rather than voting on what is good, the law makers tend to go with what people like, and people's likes and dislikes keep changing and the same change work against them sometimes. Also people on one area does not like what is liked in other area and when we have a product that contains both, well the same people now unite and start to not like the final product and this goes on ..... It is same CHANGE that President Obama mentions too often, but the same change is Now liked by Republicans, and Dems did not like the change this time around. Also with the communication revolutions, the election campaign seems to have become much much long.... And Oh !! Well... now our President apart from Health Care Reform, Immigration Reform and climate change issue, also need to work on his re-election from now on, if he doesn't want the change he loves some much, in White House in 2012 election... HOPE - at least people in this group, see CHANGE for better, CHANGE from AOS to LPR .... Now, let us see what will this loss of filibuster majority by Dems do in the interim.... Only time can tell. I agree. Remember there were two backlog elimination centers and the processing from Philly center was slow. So a person with a later 2004 EB2 PD application and whose LC was cleared from Dallas must have got his GC where as someone with an earlier PD was stuck in Philly. Most of the Dallas guys got their GC around that time.
That is so not true. Even though Dallas was faster than Philly, it only cleared labor for 2003 and earlier filers in 2005. Essentially Dallas mostly cleared only those cases in 2005 which were stuck at regional and not state level. My labor was cleared in late 2006.

Hi All,
I applied for my 485 on June 30th 2007, It reached USCIS on July 2nd. On July 2nd morning USCIS announced that all applications will be rejected because there are no VISA numbers. Considering that I went to Mexico on July 12th and got my H1 stamped. Today USCIS has announced that it will accept applications through 8/17/2007.
My question is: In my 485 app. I entered my old I-94# and VISA #. Since I went to Mexico and got my H1 stamped and entered US my I-94 and VISA #'s have changed. Will this be an issue?
I heard that USCIS will verify my status using the I-94 on the 485 form before issuing a 485 reciept. In which case my old I-94 would show that I have left the country & USCIS can abondon my application!! Is this true? Has this happend to any of you?
Please advise.

There are many websites that advertise jobs in India, depending on your situation and goals. Send me a PM with your resume and phone number, I will try getting you a job in India. Average pay scale is thousand dollars/mo and commute time in 3 hours. I am sure, those are non factors because you so sincerely desire this.
Also, I would recommend taking a break from this all and think about your future plans. I am not sure how young you are, there is a call for surge in Iraq for our troops. It is perfect time for a citizen to show his patriotism. I heard sign-up bonus is amazing :-) I was planning to volunteer, they refused me because I am a prospective legal immigrant. I want to contribute but can't, I feel bad.

You are from ROW....here are some things to consider....
Is your new employer filing your GC under EB-2? If the answer is yes, then you should definately take the new job and re-file GC and not worry about your EB-3 perm that is pending.
If your new employer is going to file under EB-3, then you have to evaluate which job is better for you (as far as pay, position etc.). If you think the new job is much better than what you have now, then I think you should still go for it. Your PD is very recent and a PD of Aug 2007 and a PD of (say) Feb/Mar 2008 has approximately the same value (according to me).
You have a valid H-1B until June 2009 and since you will apply for your perm LC before June 2008, you are eligible for atleast 1 year H-1B renewals.

I got the Card Production Ordered e-mail today. No LUD even last night at 1 Am. Only one LUD today. My case is processed at Texas service center. And my receipt date is not with in their processing times.
