How can it be a security breach if we inform the media what we are doing? Besides... we are not the ones physically delivering those flowers! It is the florists! We are just ordering them!

Hi,
I got my EAD today...Even i received my EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? I haven't received receipts yet...I filled G-28...my attorney did not receive my receipts...I don't know what is going on...

My Wife's & my AP expires on 11/16/2008 and she is coming back to the States from India on Sep 9th 2008, I'm assuming her I94 would be only issued till 11/16/2008. We are then planning to apply for EAD/AP renewal , that is, after Sep 9th 2008 and my question is what is she doesn't get her renewed AP approved before 11/16/2007 (which again I'm assuming would be the date on I94 valifity) and would that make her out of status? I hope this helps

Dear Friend,
Let me first of all thank you for taking a strong stand for your highly skilled employees at this critical time. I am on an H1b visa and am a certified professional working in this country. I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. It looks like prior to this visa bulletin, the DOS was just guessing the dates for the visa bulletins. Hopefully this behavior changes moving forward.
The best example to illustrate this is EB3-ROW:
1) Back in October 2006, this category was on 01MAY02. Very close to where it is right now.
2) DOS was not getting enough visas from USCIS, so they increased the date. By May of 2007 (Same Fiscal Year) the date was 01AUG03.
3) They still didn't get enough visas. So, by June of 2007 they moved it to 01JUN05.
4) The July 07 bulletin happened and after that everything became unavailable.
5) Then in October 2007, when the USCIS had not revised any of the July 07 applications, the DOS still didn't know what to expect, so they went back to 01AUG02.
6) Again, they didn't get enough applications, so they moved the date up. By January 08 they were in 15OCT02. And in Jun, they went all the way to 01JAN06. Then they became unavailable again.
7) In October of 2008 the date was in 01JAN05, which means that USCIS was not done with the July 07 cases and DOS didn't know what to expect. In April of this year they go back to 2003 (some I-485s that were received back in 2007 getting approved?) and then they became unavailable.
8) Now in October 2009 they are back in 2002.
With dates going from 2001 to 2005 then back to 2002 then up to 2006 then back again to 2002 (EB3-ROW in the last 3 years), it is easy to conclude that up until now, USCIS and DOS have been gambling with the dates. So the October bulletin could mean one of two things: 1) Either they have valid data now and the dates for this bulletin are realistic, which would be good because at least we would know now where we stand or 2) They are still gambling, which is neither good or bad, because with the previous history of movement in the dates, the dates could go back to 2006 again or even further...

I think your idea is good. But this could be very difficult to implement, at least for USCIS.
Another suggestion is that porting should be automatic. As soon as a person acquires the required qualification for EB2 + a letter from the company that the person's future job will be of EB2 caliber, UCSIS should put him/her in EB2 category. This is some thing we should work on.

IV could not even collect 20K in the Washington DC drive. I hardly saw EB3 folks contributing (based on my observation, I might be wrong so take it easy). If every EB3 person contributes 50USD, it will be enough to run a campaign. Action is the key, not posting in forums. Hope we get out of this EB2 vs EB3 and as focus on visa recapture.
I am EB3 and I contributed to every IV campaign including the last DC advocacy. Just because all IV efforts end up helping only EB2 does not mean EB3 people do not contribute or participate in advocacy efforts. Its just that no one wants to hear about EB3 whether it be USCIS or anyone else. :mad:

Folks, here is what I am able to gather by self employment
(1) One can be self employed
(2) 1099 or w2 - kinda tricky - most people I talked to do w2 and any profits they get after they take their salary are bonuses
(3) The job has to be legitimate - in the same or similar category - you must be doing duties that are similar in nature to your 140 petition
(4) What is meant by legitimate is - you must simply not be doing "nothing" - there must be income and you must be doing your duties.
Correct me if I am wrong

maine_gc - don't just refer them to IV. Interest is primarily ours, so we have to be dogged about pursuing it. Call someone, talk to them and be persistent in conveying our issues.

Here is one example. An actor may agree that he won't sign any other role until this movie is completed or 12 months from the agreement date.

I have seen several July 2nd Filers at NSC whose cases Transferred to TSC are getting receipts.That's good sign...,Does any july 3rd filer got receipt?
I have only seen just one or two cases so far with receipts I mean filed on Jul 2. I myself am a Jul 2 filer NSC filer with TSC approved 140 and haven't gotten anything yet....I also had the LUd on 7/28/07.
