Finally I got the receipt notice for I485, AP, EAD. When I checked online, it seems they already ordered the EAD card.
My app received NSC on July 2nd 9:01 AM, got transfered to TSC.

I laid out my plan above but yet to execute that :)
My situation is similar too.
The employer is not ready to file the 485, thinking that I may leave the company after 6 months.
I have the I-140 receipt notice , but no approval notice.
There is no way he is going to issue a employment letter , still debating my options.

Don't know why my file is still pending (RD 6/18), present EAD expiring in 2 weeks..:)
My EAD renewal is pending as well - RD 6/18 - present EAD expiring on 9/25. I requested expediting processing on 8/13 and received a letter yesterday saying they are reviewing my request and will have a decision in 60 days : :rolleyes:

You can not really change point based system and u can not ask for that..they are the policy makers..they are responsible for there own country.
We should only ask
- Clear the backlog for EB people as FB without country quota
- Allow all backlogged people to continue on old system (h1b renewal/3 year extension until date of enactment.
If all backlogged is cleared then for merit based people..
- There is no LC or PERM..u can file adjsutment of status just as canada or Australia. ur PD will be current as backlogged is being cleared.You can continue to enjoy AC-21 after I-485.
- You don't need H1b renewal 1 year or 3 year..

Also, I just learnt (through this forum) about 'hold'. Senator Sessions had put a 'hold' (a non-written tradition needing consent to raise in the senate) on the Cornyn bill.
Is that only for the lameduck session? Or is it true in general? Can senators put a 'hold' on a matter in any senate session? If that is true, then Senator Sessions can never even let this matter come up in senate in 2007 (and after.)
I guess just a single drop of lime can spoil a litre of milk?

Sent in concurrent filing 1-140 & I-1485 on June 1st .
RD June 4th
ND June 5th
All checks cashed including PP for I-140 ON 2nd June 2007.
I have a couple of questions:-
How long before i get a answer on Premium Processing on I-140.
How long for Finger Printing notice.
How long before i get EAD.
Can i renew my CA drivers license with I-1485 filing receipt or do i have to wait for EAD.

Great news: IV core is supporting the flower campaign - see this thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6191). :)
We have until tonight to place in the orders so that the flowers can be delivered on Tuesday.

While it is true that both husband and wife working is a desirable goal, I think we must also consider senthil1's comment above. I personally know desi consulting companies that have placed people on B1 visa, altered resumes to overstate experiences etc. If the rednecks have brought a bad name to the whites, desi consulting companies surely have given Indian immigrants (specially in the SW sector) a bad name. As part of our current effort to voice our issues, we must also look at where we might have gone wrong.

Zeta, congrats on ur successful landing and more so due to non-issues at the US side. I completed my landing in May, 2008 and its been about 4 weeks and my friend in Canada hasn't received the card yet. So, I'd assume its common. Yes, as u r not earning any income, there r no tax filing issues. Have u also applied for a SIN and opened a bank accnt? I've done neither. I just did the landing (was barely for about 30 mins in Canada), took a U-turn and came back to the US :). Unlike u, I used AVR to return back to US.
Yeah, I applied for an SIN card, and received a temp number as well at the same time. I didn't open a bank account however. Hope we receive the PR card soon, then at least the angle to the north is taken care of for the time being.

being anguished about the situation of not getting receipts and even worse - not being able to track or check status...I emailed the attorney and asked if he could check for encashed checks or if their firm is getting july 2nd receipts...
His response :
"We have just started getting receipts for some of the June applications we sent. I am surprised that July filers are already getting their receipts and somehow find it hard to beleive thats the case. Anyhow we have no updates on ur case."

Quick question...we applied for NSC on aug 2nd..did not hear anything yet. Just wondering did all of u , whose cases got transfered to other centers get Transfer notices or directly receipt notices.
I am gettign tensed as the days are passing by.

My attorney said ideally they have to accept I-485 till 30 June, but during last 20 years of his experience, 3 times it happened that the date was retrogated in middle of the month. So June visa dates can go back. Act fast and apply I-485 if not done yet !!!

My attorney sent me an email yesterday that my application along with some others applications were filed and they will reach USCIS on July 2nd. They did not send me the tracking number as they are busy working on other cases. I am glad that they filed it and I am happy that thier priorities are right(apply as many as they can ASAP). So, I think my application will reach there sometime today.
